Tu Bishevat Celebration

When

“The seasons change, one year leads to the next

Yet the music never ends.”  (Israeli Folk Song)

Shabbat Shira – The Shabbat of Song when we read Israel’s song of thanksgiving after crossing the Sea always coincides with Tu Bishevat, the new year of the trees.   Here in the Northeast, this season of trees and song comes in the depth of winter.   The celebration of Shabbat Shira and Tu Bishevat are opportunities for joy and sharing hope for warmer and brighter days sure to come.

Here are two opportunities to join us.

Saturday, January 15 at 9:15 a.m.  Sanctuary and TIGN ZOOM/YouTube.  We will read the Song of the Sea and Hazzan Shamash will be joined by Hazzan Adam Davis of Temple Beth El to inspire us with a service full on communal song and prayer

Friday, January 21 at 4:20 p.m.  Sanctuary and TIGN ZOOM/YouTube. The Friday evening service will include a brief Tu Bishevat celebration of trees and our most precious gift, Planet Earth.
