EmpTI Nesters

Your last child went off to college, got married or moved away to Manhattan, Miami or beyond…now what??  Unbelievably, you begin to find some time to rediscover yourself, engage with old friends and search for some new ones. Perhaps your next step might be to explore the EmpTI Nesters!! We are a social affinity group for men and women, originally formed in September 2012. We seek to enjoy varied activities together and share a multitude of ideas within the Jewish community.

Our activities through the years, have covered an array of events targeted for educational, social, emotional and jovial evenings and afternoons together.  We’ve done museum tours, trivia night, progressive dinners and sing-a-longs, Broadway and off-Broadway shows, book talks, discussions on hot topics with the Rabbi, a momentous weekend retreat, a Hamantashen bake paired with interesting Purim insights and lively holiday singing with our new Hazzan, a Ladies’ Night Out and a riotous Karaoke night.  We’ve laughed, cried, celebrated, learned and enjoyed being together as a group from Temple Israel.

So, do join us if you can, even if your kids have moved back in or you’re housebound due to the pandemic.  We know you’ll enjoy being a part of a great group of EmpTI Nesters!!!! Please contact Barbara Spun (bbspun@gmail.com) or Joyce Weston (jsweston1@aol.com) with any questions or if you would like to participate in planning.
