This silent film is a Prologue attached to another movie so we will be discussing only the first 50 minutes. Read the introduction carefully. It explains the rationale for the film. In 1923, the post WWI United States was in the throes of profound social change – the Jazz Age, Prohibition, Women’s Suffrage, the Labor Movement, Immigration, the Lost Generation, Traditional Values vs Modern Life. How does the film reflect these changes? What is the film’s attitude toward the “modern” world?

You don’t need to be a Sisterhood member to attend.  Everyone is welcome to join us.
