This class, led by Rabbi Amy Roth, focuses on selections from the first and second Books of Kings (Melakhim) in the Bible. Along with discussing literary nuance and religious practice in ancient Israel, we will analyze the role of the prophet: is he/she a messenger of God, a communicator with God, a disciplinarian of sinners, and also a magician?
Classes meet from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. This will be the 4th session.
