The Book Talk will take place via Zoom. Please check the weekly Temple Israel email or call the synagogue office for the Zoom link.
We will meet with editor and author Hilari T. Cohen who will discuss her career mentoring authors and then joining their ranks. Her latest book, The Wick and the Flame, explores a little known true story of the Ayalon Institute where a clandestine group of young people help prepare for the Israeli War of Independence by producing bullets right under the noses of the British military outpost in Rehovot and the Kibbutzim who do not know of the factory’s existence beneath them.
On Tuesday, June 14 we will meet with Jennifer Young, Education Program Manager for the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA. We will prepare for the program by reading Outwitting History: The Amazing Adventures of a Man Who Rescued A Million Yiddish Books.
We hope that you will be able to participate!
