Anthony Housefather has been a Member of the Canadian House of Commons since 2015. Anthony is Vice Chair of the Canada/US Parliamentary Association and Chair of the Canada/Israel Parliamentary Association.
He served on the House Justice and Ethics Committees and recently sponsored a motion that led to the Justice Committee studying antisemitism at Canadian universities and beyond which led to a multipartisan report coming out in December 2024 with recommendations that were the primary subject of the National Forum to Combat Antisemitism convened by the federal government last month.
Since 2020 Anthony co-chaired the Interparliamentary Task Force Combatting Online Antisemitism together with US Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and he is the North American co-chair of the International Conference of Jewish Parliamentarians.
Anthony earned 12 medals in swimming at the Maccabiah Games, pushing him to become very active in Montreal Jewish community organizations.
