Anthony Housefather has been a Member of the Canadian House of Commons since 2015 and was just re-elected to a fourth term in the 2025 election. He represents a district in the West end of the island of Montreal. After the election he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Emergency Management and Community Resilience (similar to FEMA) and was previously Parliamentary Secretary for the Treasury Board, Parliamentary Secretary for Public Services and Procurement and Parliamentary Secretary for Labour.  Anthony is Vice Chair of the Canada/US Parliamentary Association and Chair of the Canada/Israel Parliamentary Association.

Committee appointments for the current House session have not been made yet, but until the election he served on the House Justice and Ethics Committees and recently sponsored a motion that led to the Justice Committee studying antisemitism at Canadian universities and beyond which led to a multipartisan report coming out in December 2024 with recommendations that were the primary subject of the National Forum to Combat Antisemitism convened by the federal government last month.

Since 2020 Anthony has co-chaired the Interparliamentary Task Force Combatting Online Antisemitism together with US Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and he is the North American co-chair of the International Conference of Jewish Parliamentarians chaired by US Senator Jackie Rosen.

Before being elected to the House, Anthony served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and General Counsel of a multinational technology company and also served as a City Councillor for 11 years and then Mayor of Cote Saint Luc.

Anthony has been a competitive swimmer most of his life. His performance in swimming earned him seven medals at the 2013 Maccabiah Games and five medals at the 2017 Maccabiah Games. His participation in Maccabiah in his youth pushed him to become very active in Montreal Jewish community organizations.
