When are prayer services?
Temple Israel offers twice daily minyan, Shabbat, and Holiday services.  The schedule varies by day and time of year and take place both in-person and on live stream.  Please click here for a full calendar.

Is Temple Israel of Great Neck considered Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, or something else?
Temple Israel is Conservative, egalitarian, and is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. 

I’m not a member. May I participate in religious services and programs?
All members of the community are encouraged to participate in all that Temple Israel has to offer. Some programs may require a fee, but these will be noted. Please check our website for the updated schedule, or contact info@tign.org to be added to our programming email list.

I or my partner are not Jewish.  May I/we still participate?
Temple Israel welcomes everyone.  Please attend any and all programs and services.  If you have questions about ritual practices, please contact our senior rabbi, Rabbi Howard Stecker (rabbistecker@tign.org) or call (516) 482-7800.

Who may I contact about membership?
Laura Gal and Ellen Widawsky are co-chairs of the Membership Committee at Temple Israel.  Ellen and Laura will meet with you at your convenience to hear more about what your Jewish communal needs.  You can contact them by calling the synagogue office (516) 482-7800 or by email at membership@tign.org

Do you offer early childhood education programs?
Yes!  Our Beth HaGan Early Childhood Center is a highly accredited five-day-per-week program for children ages 2 – 4 years.  More information can be found by clicking here or by calling the office at (516) 482-7800 to speak with Yve Fouladi, our Beth HaGan Director.

Do you offer religious school education for children?
Temple Israel offers after-school education 2 days per week for grades kindergarten through seventh grade.  Upon graduation, many students enroll in our Waxman Hebrew High School which continues through twelfth grade.

What should I do in the case of a pastoral emergency?
Please call the synagogue at (516) 482-7800.  If the office is open, please speak with the first available member of our staff. If the office is closed, wait for the announcement to begin, then press 6. Your call will be directed appropriately.

Do you offer catering?
