 ed in the restitution of artworks looted during the Holocaust:\n\nJewish f
 amilies continue to fight against museums and galleries that are highly re
 sistant to returning Nazi looted art to descendants of original owners. Ra
 ymond Dowd\, who lives on Long Island\, has been a champion in the battle 
 to turn this around.\n\nMr. Dowd is a partner at the law firm Dunnington B
 artholow &amp\; Miller LLP in New York City. His legal career spans high-p
 rofile cases in estate law and the restitution of cultural property. He ha
 s successfully litigated landmark decisions\, including the Estate of Dori
 s Duke and the recovery of an ancient Assyrian tablet for Berlin’s Perga
 mon Museum.\n\nAn adjunct professor at Fordham Law School\, Mr. Dowd serve
 s on the Board of Governors of the FEU in Paris and of the National Arts C
 lub in NYC and co-founded the annual Art Litigation and Dispute Resolution
  Institute at the New York County Lawyers’ Association. He has also serv
 ed as General Counsel for the Federal Bar Association and is the author of
  the Copyright Litigation Handbook\, now in its 16th edition.\n\nIn recent
  years\, Mr. Dowd has played a crucial role in the restitution of artworks
  looted during the Holocaust. He has led efforts to recover Egon Schiele a
 rtworks on behalf of the heirs of Fritz Grünbaum\, a Jewish cabaret perfo
 rmer murdered in Dachau. Additionally\, he recently represented the heirs 
 of Heinrich Rieger\, Egon Schiele’s dentist\, in a case involving Portra
 it of the Artist’s Wife. Mr. Dowd is a frequent lecturer and served as a
  Visiting Professor at the Paris I Sorbonne Law School in 2024.\n&nbsp\;
