SUMMARY:Small Groups Initiative Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Join us in the tent for an information session and soiree to le
 arn more about our Small Groups Initiative.\n\nTemple Israel’s Small Gro
 ups initiative (Mifgashim/Encounters) is designed to build connections amo
 ng congregants in a new way\, using shared interests or passions\, while m
 aintaining a broader Jewish context. The congregant-led micro-communities 
 will provide a space to learn\, explore and grow as Jewish adults\, to fos
 ter deeper relationships\, and to strengthen the bonds within our congrega
 tion. A typical group size will be 8-12 members focusing on intimacy and c
 onnection.\n\nJewish life is not meant to be lived alone\; we learn from o
 ur tradition about the value of being part of a community. Rabbi Hillel\, 
 inPirkei Avot\, warns us: “Do not separate yourself from community.” A
 s we begin to recover from the isolation and loneliness of COVID-19 quaran
 tining\, we hope you will take part in this exciting opportunity to connec
 t and grow with members of our community.&nbsp\;\n\nWe are launching 4 gro
 ups this fall:\n\n 	Golfing group\n 	Challah baking group\n 	LGBT and Alli
 es group\n 	Walking group\n\nEach group will be led by our own fellow cong
 regants who have stepped up and been trained by Rabbi Bethie Miller and th
 e UJA. We are looking forward to bringing people who may not know each oth
 er together and have a great time. We will be following all health protoco
 ls laid out by Temple Israel and ensure a safe environment for all to part
 icipate.\n\nWe pray for a beautiful new year that brings us closer togethe
