Join the Shoah Remembrance Committee’s Holocaust Book Club for their next book discussion – Refuge Denied by Sarah A. Oligvie and Scott Miller

Monday, October 19th
8:15 p.m.
Blue Room and on TIGN Zoom

The book investigates the ultimate fates of the 937 Jewish refugees aboard the ocean liner MS St. Louis. In 1939, the ship was turned away by Cuba, the United States, and Canada, forcing the passengers to return to Europe. While the historic voyage is famous, what happened to the passengers after they disembarked remained largely unknown for decades.

Ogilvie and Miller spent nine years tracking down the individual stories of every single passenger. The book uncovers both tragic losses and remarkable accounts of survival, reading like a historical detective investigation.

Please RSVP to Carol Smolinsky at smohome6@aol.com and let us know if you’ll be joining us in person or via zoom and if you need help getting a book.
