Sh’ma Koleinu שמע קולינו Hear Our Voice
Miriam Bursky-Tammam helps us approach healing and forgiveness with new modalities along with Hazzan Brian Shamash and our wonderful mizrachi musical ensemble, Rayhan Pasternak, Moshe Elmakias & Samuel Torjman Thomas.

Led by Hazzan Brian Shamash, Rabbi Howard Stecker and Rabbi Dan Schweber with the vocal participation of Miriam Bursky-Tammam and musical accompaniment of Dr. Samuel Torjman Thomas (oud, ney), Moshe Elmakias (piano, percussion) and Rahhan Pasternak (violin).

Deep gratitude to Dr. Ostad for teaching us ancient Persian Selihot traditions and for his participation.

Hosted by Temple Israel of Great Neck with SHAI (Sephardic Heritage Alliance).  Sponsored in part by the Emily Levin z’l’ Music Fund.

Getting to know Miriam Bursky-Tammam: Miriam is a Hazanit and Mekonenet whose mizrachi family heritage traversed Libya, Turkey and Morocco. She shares sound immersion therapy and chant with singing bowls that are rooted in a blended tradition of European and Middle Eastern liturgies. Our Shabbaton Sh’ma Koleinu שמע קולינו Hear our Voice introduces elements of healing meditation and chant with singing bowls and sound immersion therapy as we seek transformation through the month of Elul towards the renewal of our new beginning ~ Rosh Hashanah.
