What do I do if... …there is illness in the family?
Volunteers from the Bikur Cholim Committee perform the mitzvah of visiting the sick whether at home, in local hospitals, or in rehabilitation centers. If you or someone in your family would like to receive a member of the committee as a guest, please call chairperson Karen Ashkenase 487-3048.
In addition, Yad B'Yad (Hand to Hand), organized and funded by the Sisterhood of Temple Israel, assists members in time of illness, emergency, family death and other crisis situations. Volunteers bring food, provide transportation, do grocery shopping, help with car pools, and provide other support services. For additional information, call Brenda Kopelowitz at 516-482-2787.
